2.0 agg carb conversion

Post by quintyrabbitgolf »

hi there everyone I am new to the group.
I am running a 2.0 agg motor and a ddg box in a 1978 rabbit golf i rebuilt the whole car she is running very well
I am running the motor with oem carb tuning is 100 percent but i am using a electronic fuel pump not mechanical.
my question is can you use the old spec intermediate shaft that supports the mechanical pump on a long block as i fitted one in a motor and i see that the shaft does not fit in properly it is as if it is touching the conrond on piston 4? someone told me that you need to machine it to work?

and another question is that my consumption is 7 to 8 km's per liter so would a mechanical fuel system be lighter on fuel i think not what do you all think?

my electronic fuel setup runs with a universal electronic fuel pump low pressure with a 3 way separator and return like the old citi golfs.

shes just very thirsty and my gear ratios on dgg make her rev 3500rpm on 120.
