2010 Polo Classic 1.4i

Hi all,

I have a 2010 Polo Classic 1.4i with roughly 170000kms on the clock, still runs like a dream. About 3 years ago we travelled to Namibia over the December holidays and whilst driving up and it was extremely hot, the car suddenly just started cutting out and loosing power. It recently happened again travelling to cape town. What could the cause be? I spoke to a couple people and all said that it could be either have to do with the ignition, fuel line or thermostat. Could excessive heat also cause this problem?
