Hi LindoBlue here. My golf mk1. 1.8 has a knocking sound on the engine. Just did an engine overall and service.

Need more info before anyone can advise.
A knocking sound can be anything from a leaking exhaust manifold gasket to a big end bearing to a hydraulic tappet failing.

Please list everything that was done on the motor overhaul.
