Now all you have to do is import a complete velocity dash with harness, brackets and some fuel injection
Please don't change the dash to new spec dash. Every time I see someone that has done that I shed a little tear

I quite like the old dash, just want a velocity steering wheel to give the interior a lift!

I did it in my 2 door, best choice of my life The amount of rattles and squeeks the black dash can produce is enough to send a man to a mental institute.
I have the old dash and I have almost no rattles and my new spec dash had more rattles. The only rattle I have is from my radio. But if it's a new spec golf with the new spec dash yes that's a win,but to make old spec golf have new spec dash you will have problems always with rattles.

Many thanks for that - need to get some ordered now.
Arctic white is a South African created color so will not be picked up on your normal paint systems
unless they do change the country to South Africa or just have them eye-matched your color...
My opinion the easiest way is to get your local paint shop that do mix in either ppg or max meyer paint as I know they have it on their
selection of South Africa colors (the paint i'm working with and is being imported from the UK)

Q9A code is not known in the uk and I've tried loads of different paint suppliers here in the UK and bought several tins in the hope that they may do the job.... It would seem UK Arctic White is different shade to SA Arctic white....
Any way managed to source a tin from Germany in the correct Q9A colour (LQ9A) so all is good and will post a sample once i get a chance

Yeah the artic white on that sample is definitely not the artic white here, artic white is a blue white, the sample is completely red. Have someone eye mix with a sample. If it's not 100%, bust their balls to get it closer. It's not a particularly difficult colour to mix from a sample anyway.

Decode it from the VIN, or find the date on the seat belt tag.
The DVLA (UK vehicle registrations) has stated
'Dating evidence is required in order to ascertain the vehicle's origin and to allocate an appropriate registration number. Date of manufacture evidence must be sough from the vehicle manufacturer'
Ive asked VW germany under their birth certificate scheme, but they do not have any info for my car (possible due to being under VW SA)
The DVLA has stated that evidence could be used from enthusiast clubs but must include year /date that the vehicle was manufactured, which could be taken from the VIN / chassis number

Normally the 7th from last symbol on the VIN is related to the date of manufacture. I personally wouldn't post any details like vehicle VIN on a public forum. My old Citi had 5 cloned licensed vehicles driving around South Africa with my same registration number.
The best solution would be to mail VWSA and ask them for a sales documents of some kind or at least confirmation of the date of manufacture.
