Nice!

What did you use for that overlay? Or is it built in to the camera?

Also, what time did you manage?

It looks quite nice. Clean and simple.

That's quite a good time. The best I got was around the 54 mark. I think i'm the type who needs the traction control on. :bang:

I know the Fiesta ST's really earned my respect, one of them got 2nd place for FWD turbo and I *think* a GTR broke the record for the hill. But let's wait for the official times.
That Fiesta is a revo hybrid turbo, Guy's name is Jose. Reckon with proper warm semi-slicks he could've gone much faster though.

I was at the limit of my tyres grip and I got a 56.6 not great but not terrible either for a stock car. Hopefully next time around I'll have better tyres and brakes and less Fuel pump issues

Were you the guy next to me with the Dunlops? 56.6 is quite respectable for a stock car.

Yeah that was me. I was pushing a bit on my last run though so any faster and I would've ended up in a big crash.

Lekker, man, was nice meeting you. That's true, like we said on the day, if you go over those guard rails you aren't coming back

Once I hit 54-something on my first run, I was quite satisfied. Had a bit more fun on the second run, more confident, entering the corners a bit faster but my tires didn't like it...I'm sure I was slower.

Would have liked a third run, but had to leave.

Eish, that was me on my first run, had a brain fart going into kink before the first hairpin and ended up entering the hairpin backwards
By the grace of God I missed the barrier and the dirt and stayed on the tar while doing a full 180

Found the limit......brought it back from there and then got a bit faster from there

Was a cool event but the sun ended up burning the crap out of me

I really missed taking part in the event and I need a project car to enter these types of events again. Hopefully by the next hillclimb event I will have something to rival my best time done previously in my Cupra TDI

Our planning started last year already. When the new committee team met for the first time in November, we discussed which events we'd love to be able to do for 2018. The HillClimb, was one of them, due to its rich history, and that it was different to a lot of events out there. Well, we did it! Drivers from all parts of JHB (and further away) congregated on an ICY (It was SO cold) stretch of road in Krugersdorp on Sunday morning to take on the Hill! The selection of cars ranged from our club rides, to ridiculous Hillclimb monsters! We were so overwhelmed with the response to our club event! An event like this, wouldn't be possible without some assistance, and I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the following people... Maverick Generators, and owner Gerardo Cammarata for the sponsorship and help in the weeks leading up to the event. Delarey Racing Developments, and owner Wikus Dippenaar, for the absolutely gorgeous trophies, and the help, and for listening to me whine in the weeks before. Kyalami Marshals, who stood with us from start to finish, Dave and his team need a huge thank you, they are the unsung heroes! Our food vendors, The Urban Cafe and Tasneems for keeping us fed and quenched our thirsts, and the steaming hot coffees in the freezing cold temperatures. My committee team, and Natalie & Caytlin, for making sure the event ran smoothly, for sorting the registrations, and doing the timing all day! The various media crews, and our own Dylan Shaw Photography, for the awesome event coverage! And to our club members and spectators who spent the day with us! I am sure I've left a few people out, but thank you! Finally, the competitors, who put it all on the line, and by all accounts, had a great day out with the Club, thank you for your support! There isn't much left to say, other than let you know who we crowned, King of the Hill. Well, it was none other than one of our sponsors, Gerardo, who set a BLISTERING time of 43.16s, smashing Deon's long standing record of 45.7s set a few years back! Well done!

Enjoy the images by our club photographer, Dylan! Be absolutely sure, this event will be back next year!

Peace

Yours in VW
