Good Day bud.

Apologies for your bad experience.

The food and drinks was my fault due to couldn't get someone arranged for the day on a Public holiday. Bud nothing to less . Should of tried harder.

Beach bums. The mic was arranged but the venue did not test to ensure its working.
But again apologize for the inconvenience.

We will ensure next year goes much better.

Last thing we want is guys being unhappy about a event.

Good Morning Le Clue

I would like to thank you for your reply and constructive criticism. As you have stated you have been on the committee before, you know how much time and effort it takes to arrange the events. This being said, Dubrun is an event that has grown in numbers and magnitude over the years. We as a committee strive to grow from strength to strength and value club members input.

I can only apologize for not meeting your expectations this year. We had some unforeseen circumstances rock up, many in fact and try and rectify the issues as best we can. With regards to food and drinks, this was largely due to a communication error. We tried to rectify as soon as possible.

With regards to the service at beach bums. Prior arrangements were made with them. Due to some equipment failure on the evening we were left without the use of a loudspeaker or microphone. Just one of those unforeseen problems we experienced. As with anything we learn from prior experience and try to strive to make any event bigger. We had numerous complaints last year about the drive between Dezzi raceway and Beach Bums and thus year chose to split the events over the 2 days. With regards to the service we received at Beach Bums, we will most certainly be in contact with the Management and The owner of the establishment.

If you have any more you would like to discuss, you have my number, you are free to contact me.

Regards
Chris

Thanks for another good Dubrun guys!

I really appreciate the prize I got. I had a lot of fun at Dezzi even though my R was having fueling issues at the coast. (We have narrowed it down to my rail pressure not holding pressure so there is something wrong there.)

My 2c on the event. The run was great. No issues there at all.

My issue with Dezzi. I had none. But then again I was on the strip a lot. My fiancé and friends were in the hot sun and they couldn't get food or refreshments. I could have stayed longer, but once you have a hungry, sunburnt fiancé, you gotta make plans to feed her and that's why I left around midday.

Beachbums was awesome. The company and the friends is what makes it. The only issue there was our bill. The waiter brought our bill and the original amount was crossed out and a new even bigger amount was written on. Luckily my fiancé handled the bill with her calculator cause we were all drunk and just wanted to pay. In the end, the management admitted they made a mistake and we only needed to pay the original amount that night.

Teething issues there will always be. But it's a learning curve and sure comm will address this in the future now. I always enjoy Dubrun. Trip to the coast and hooking up with fellow car friends that you know and haven't seen in a while is my main thing. Bring on Dubrun 18!

Thanks

Hi Mbuzi,
Thank you.
Ok so the events that took place in this years dubrun (2017). Did they differ to last years event(2016)?
If so, what was different (except for tape up venue)?

Just wondering

Yes they differed. For instance last year we had a braai day at Hazelmere dam and Beach Bums happened same day as Dezzi.

This year Dezzi had its own day and there was no braai day.

I'll give this DR a solid 3 out of 10. Worst one ever.

3 events in one all came with last minute complications.
Tape Up aka Blackout
Dezzi
Beacbums.

But thanks for justifying with valid explanations.

I will continue to support the club and the comm. It can't be easy.

Quick ones...

Did the ex chairman not leave you guys with a solid platform of sponsors etc...?

Where was Vagcafe this year?
Where was Speed and Sound this year?

I had a blast and an epic time the weekend as an overall.
Plenty old faces and new. Bring on DR18.

Thank you to everyone for your comments on DubRun, especially the negative ones. They certainly help for the future and all will be considered equally.

While we plan the next event for July, here are some pics from DubRun, courtesy of Tander's SO:
