Just over 3 hours before the KZN convoy leaves for Harrismith. See everyone at breakfast. Time for me to leave work and get strange stares in traffic.

Having been a part of the original DubRun organising committee and then involved for a few years, I know how much work, organising, stress, etc. it can be to prepare and then manage an event like DubRun. Even though I didn't manage to participate in all the DubRun had to offer this year, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I have to compliment the VWCSA committee on another successful event. DubRun has grown from strength to strength and is far bigger than I could ever imagine it would ever be, with more offered in the DubRun pack than what the entrance fee provides for, never mind the events put on over the course of the weekend. And the effort which entrants go to when they 'tape up' their cars is beyond imagination, it is great to see so much effort and thought put in to something that was originally done for a laugh. Congrats and thanks again VWCSA, the committee, fellow members and friends.

P.S. No poles were harmed during DubRun '16. Well, not by me anyway.

I was about to type a very similar reply

Having been part of DR over the years I know how much blood sweat and tears go into making it happen, Therefore I am truly thankful to the comm for pulling everything together.
I had a blast at Dezzi, Its such a fantastic venue, And i hope we have the opertunity to go there again next year.

I am also amazed how the whole tape up thing transformed over the years, however at the same time im sad at how its evolved. More and more guys are moving away from taping their cars, And I personally would love to see the Comm encourage the okes more to stick to the roots of taping... with blue tape. I dont have an issue with the vinyl themes, But it does move away from the reason why we are taping our cars in the first place. I would just like to see the tape being more of a factor. Afterall it all started to protect your car.

I dont like the idea of split catogories between theme and tape, it should be one, And ensuring its fair is to tie in with the tape, Not everyone has access or funds for full on vinyl themes, And as awesome as it is, i think if the club supports something it should be something viable for the majority.

But like I said, Its awesome to see how things have changed, The above is just my 2c

Regarding the tape, I have no idea how guys do it these days, I was lucky enough to have more time and to walk to work back in the day so taping up my cars was easy. Now, I got **** all time this year to do anything, and I overslept

Was an epic weekend!

Every Dubrun has been epic and continues to get better each year. Truly an event I never miss!

Enjoyed it very much. Was very bummed that I could not have my R ready for Dezzi. Was heartsore seeing the cars go down and I couldn't join in on the fun.

But the club members made it a great time. Beach bums was epic as usual!
