At a loss for words!

Hi all. I have a 2.0 2E with X flow and ITBs. After washing the engine compartment the car was idling and when I revved it, it had a bit of a mis due to the dizzy and plugs being abit wet, after the third rev I heard a knocking sound from the engine which sounds identical to a lifter noise. I replaced the lifters but the noise was still there. I then decided to redo rings, and bearing and even changed the crankshaft, when I started the car the noise was still there, I took the complete head off and put my nephews X flow head on but to no avail. Noise is still there, I dropped the sump to see if I can find the issue but still nothing. Any help will be highly appreciated.
