New Polo GTi or Golf 6 Gti?

Post by CTI Driver »

Hi everyone

For the guys who have a new shape Polo Gti or Golf 6 Gti.

What would you guys prefer and why?

Any pro's and con's on both cars?

My brother is looking for one, and had a drive in both, and both are awesome cars.

Also what fuel consumption does both give?
The price diffrence is about R60k with most of the extras and maintance plan.

I really like the Polo GTI but I would choose the Golf GTI.

I averaged around 8l/100km with my GTI.

I've spent plenty time with both. The PGTi is nice and nippy but it ain't close to the GTi 6 in dynamics. The Golf is the better braking, handling and accelerating car.

haha no he is not, he is 27 years old. Also has a Fireblade 1000cc which also is quite affordable on insurance.

Ill ask him again, but think he is on the same as me, Santam.

Looking at getting the 6R polo gti in December, but i dont want to pay more than R1000 a month on insurance. Called outsurance, they wanted to charge me just over R2600 a month, im over 25, never claimed since i have had car insurance, almost 7 years now, and R2600 a month is more than 50% of the monthly payment, so outsurance is a hell no option for me.

Well I could give you someone's number where I am insured then you could just mention my name also.
Thats where we (brother, father and me) are insured and insurance prices are very good.

But I know your not in CPT, that prob won't matter.

Question though, I know a Polo GTI R is coming, but when will it be here and what will the price be if anyone knows?

I know its a 1.6 TSI

Tough choice,

I own a golf 6 GTi, and had a chance to drive the new polo GTI, thanks to ree on this forum :hi: . btw I average 8l/100km in traffic and everyday driving.

I love both cars, and both are awesome lookers. Check out the months vw desktop calender for the polo GTi (damn) and both are fun to drive.

So if budget allows then go for the Golf and if it does not then the polo is still very impressive to have as well.

Good luck to your bro

You can give me the number and ill give them a call, because if my insurance company cant give me a quote for R1000 or less then i want to shop around. I dont know if i can wait for the GTI R and dont know if i can afford it either, but i want the polo gti badly
