Just be careful. 20VT offers a fully programmed map for your car on a dyno.
I have seen these other mp9 "maps" and all they do is make it very rich at the bottom, so that it doesn't lean out too much at the top with your mods. This is not a perfect tune.

Hmmm...
Spoken to Ray, He says that he's got quite a nice map for the setup I want to run..
My setup is almost, if not, the same as yours Mk1-fan.
How did it run? I spose you dove it quite hard, but what was consumption like?

@Mk1-fan
Did Ray give you some sort of printout to show you that your ECU was mapped?
What guarantee did you have?
I basically need my 1.4 control unit to be mapped to 1.8

Re: The Bosch MP9 ECU
Mother of thread revives. Ray is just a few blocks away from me, used him to map my box from 1.4 to 1.8 for my high comp 1.8 and remove key coding, I am very happy with the map, it's smooth and economic.mrvince wrote:@Mk1-fan

Re: The Bosch MP9 ECU
I actually took a chance replying to this post.
Thanks bro. I will be heading to Ray soon.
Its my first time doing all this stuff so I want to do it right the first time.
So you basically just took your box to him then you plugged into your car? Was that it?

Re: The Bosch MP9 ECU
Yes go to him and ask him to decode it and load a 1.8 map, then you'll just plug it in and the car will run

Re: The Bosch MP9 ECU
Howsit
So I went and got my ECU mapped to be compatible with my 1.8i conversion.
Already did 5000+ km's.
I have an intermittent jerk when I drive. I can feel that the car can perform much better. Its like something is restricting it to perform to its full capacity.
The car moves very nice and uphills tell me nothing however its the jerk from time to time, so as if the car wants to die, then it catches again and goes.
Sometimes when I put my foot flat down after turning to my right then the car jerks heavy. As strange as this might sound. The car jerks when I turn to the right. LOL!
Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Re: The Bosch MP9 ECU
check the timing and for the jerk have a good look at the wiring on the hall generator plug ( the plug on the side of the distributor).
