Good morning guys

Finally got the correct thread to post my issue :hi:

So I just bought a vw polo 6 sedan 2013 model everything seems fine on it except a few glitches here and there. This problem happens while I took it for a long drive for the very first time after I bought it.

So while on my way I noticed that my speedometer went all the way from 120km/h to 0km/h and also noticed my odometer stopped, the ABS light lit up as well.

I want to solve this problem but don't wanna spend extra money on thing that are not causing the problem.so anyone who has any knowledge or may have come across the same problem, please help a brother out

Hey guys

Does anyone know how to pair a Android to this car? I don't have the vw guidebook so hoping someone has managed to connect it

Mine is a 2013 model and has a set of buttons only on the left side of the steering wheel

Any help would b highly appreciated

Hi playas

Did anyone replace their coolant water bottle as yet?
Does one have to bleed the system after replacing the bottle because the stealership said I need to bleed it because I will encounter overheating issues.

More coilover questions over here :hi:

TL;DR version: Buy FK's now or wait a bit and buy BC's.... or is there another option?

They will be firmer and bouncy even on roads you "thought" were smooth, they do give you good grip, I would say better than oem except they do hop slightly on a bumpy bend which is expected from a firmer setup but to be fair the oem springs and dampers did it and were even worse. Funny enough I don't know if it's just coincidence but braking feels better as well but to be fair I had changed the pads so maybe they just wore in better at that stage hence me saying coincidence.

The height -

They go pretty low good drop granted you have droplinks - usually supplied in the kit. Personally I didn't buy them to go very low I bought them to be able to adjust them if needs be (taking alot of passengers/luggage/dirt roads or roads I know it could scrape) as well as to even out the drop as sometimes coil springs drop the front more than the rear or visa versa and I wanted them even.

Build quality -

They built well apart from poorly placed holders for the wheel speed sensor cable and brake line holder but that's minor. Threads are good, ally used is good they can take a beating considering they still going strong on these roads. I have held these and JOM's and not to knock the brand the FK's are built slightly better but how they look means nothing its how well they built the internals of the damper but as for the FK's they decent.

Problems -

My front left clunks when turning at a stand still or at slow speeds and I tired everything (wasn't droplinks,wasn't top shock mountings) turned out to be the main spring binding with the helper spring and I didn't want to remove the helpers so I cable tied the main spring to the helper to stop them shifting and everything is 100% no noise now. Other than that they have been awesome so far.



If you can afford dampening adjustable coilovers go for them you will be very pleased that you are able to set them softer on these roads. It's quite abit more bouncy than a oem setup and honestly I almost took them off within the first week due to this but you get used to it eventually and I don't mind much now but some days you just want it to glide over the roads like the oem setup did and if you have dampening adjust you can set it softer and you will be happy. Prepair for some sort of noises in the suspension though. Lastly the problems all go away when you see how awesome the car looks when it's lowered.

Anyone else notice a weird flat spot when pulling away from time to time? Happens randomly where the car feels completely dead for like a second then it's back to normal :???:

It feels almost as if there is a delay in the dbw, but it doesn't happen all the time. Diagnostics picks up no faults.

Hi

I have an issue with the box of my 6r steptronic, as I reversed out the driveway and into D, I felt some resistance as though the gear lever struggled to get Into "D"
So I then decided to see if Sport mode was OK and the lever refused to go down any further, didn't want to force it or damage anything further I drove to a friend's house

I opened the knob and lifted the trim to find that the plastic fitting which sits around the shaft had broken, it is secured with a pin which is now bent, the resistance I felt earlier was due to the pieces preventing the shifter from moving freely

Now the safety features obviously do not work on the shifter and the darn key doesn't come out

Can this plastic and pin be bought separately? Any assistance will highly be appreciated.

First things first, Outstanding troubleshooting skills on finding the issue. :hurray: :thumbup:
Now your options on finding the replacement part is contacting GW/ VW and see if they can source and sell it to you.

If all fails then search ebay.
I am not seeing where you located, but start by contacting GW delarey.

Update, I stripped out the entire console to get to the gear selector mechanism in hopes that I can take it apart and do a repair, unfortunately I just couldn't separate the black housing, Think it can't

So phoned vw and they sell the complete mechanism, no small parts, I laughed when I got the price from them, will have to source at scrapyards.

Please guys, if you know of any scrapyards that may have it, please forward their contact details to me.

Hi there. My name is Elvin. First time Polo owner. Bought my Polo 6r 1.4 Comfortline 2014 in December 2017.

Johhhhh i love the carImage

The car rocks alot. Over speed bumps and just down k@k Cape Town roads. Dealer says that the shocks are fine. He says its a Polo thing.
Is polo 6 2014 just a pap car?

Guys looking to buy a 1.2tsi trendline

What do you guys reckon car has 44223km on the clock silver in colour

I have a few concerns

no fogs
no mf steering
no leather steering
no rims

i want to be able to check fuel economy so kinda sad about that.

How will i know if engine mounts are gone? Is this covered under service plan?

It seems like when i am in boost 3rd into 4th there is clunk noise not huge but enough to bug me

also worst if in boost 4th to 5th it feels like the engine rocks.

I am looking for mudflaps for the 6r sedan... Autostyle has them but the rear ones are not correct.

I am considering lowering the suspension on my polo 6 any suggestions? What will give me a 2 finger gap and maintain a decent soft ride? Eibach 35mm, 30mm or 25mm?

Hi guys in brand new to the forum and for the life of me can't find the "new topic" button.
I wanted to ask a question on coil overs for my polo 6r 1.4 comfortline, I currently have custom made lowering spring on the car so im not exactly sure what the drop is (in mm) but its pretty decent, that the plastic engine cover is about 2 or 3 fingers off the ground.

however when i load the car with 4 people aswell as the 2x12" subs in the boot its hard to drive anywhere at over 40kph (except for highways)

the lowered bug has also caught me and i want to be able to slam it down on a set of coilovers but also lift it enough for semi decent ride when i need to. my current options are Fk auto, maxtrac or jom blueline coilies, if anyone could provide suggestions as to which to go for it'd be greatly appreciated.
