Ok so no pNP for me. Did the rear pads n disc today. The next thing i need to sort out is the clamp that joins the dp to the rest of the exhaust. Keeps coming off. Car goes dead n the oil temp runs a lil higher. Im giving up on this car lol. :bang: .

Hi Guys

I'm looking at purchasing a 2013-2015 1.4 Polo GTI

I've done some research and seen that the earlier models had a lot of issues.Have these issues been rectified with the later models ?

Thanks

The later models were still plagued with gearbox problems. But with the 6R's it was a lucky packet draw as some people had issues and some did not.

Sup bro...
I did, Kamz did sort it out. But i think its the clamp thats damaged.
Il have to go to vw and order 1. Need to sort it out this week. Its realllllllly heavy on fuel.
Next best bet if it still does it with the new clamp, im going to get someone to weld the DP and exahust together.

Howsit gents

I know there is a possible thread but need some advise urgently. I am currently in Durban need to leave on Saturday back to GP.Yesterday my polo gti Dsg started flashing a spanner by the D sign. Was stuck in D2 didn't want to change up to D3. Couldn't change it manually as well. Switched car off and started it again spanner gone but gear changes are very hard car when it changes car even jerks than it drives normal than same again.

Any quick fix advice

From what ive read and heard.... this is a common fault on these Polo 6R GTi's.....

could be a number of things :
DSG software
Clutch
mega tronics

my one buddy sent his car in about 5/6 times for this issue and eventually traded it in for the for the new 6C Gti

Hay guys...just had the same prob now. But gears are changing fine. Switched the car of and started it and the spanner when away. Going to let it cool down a bit and take it for a drive. Ghostface, what did vw say is wrong with your car?

Howzit guys

The gearbox on my car acted up as well. I pulled out of my drive way one day and all was fine, the moment I switched off and on again the gearbox locked completely. The car did not want to move no matter what gear i selected. Had to get a flatbed truck to come in and use "dolley wheels" to take the car to VW.

Sent it to VW and all they done was a software update/ DSG calibration on the gearbox.

The car was fine since that incident happened, however now there is a slight shudder on a low gear.

Just a question, if the car is out of warranty, are there any RMI approved workshops that fix the mechatronics on these gearboxes?

Cheers!

Sup Guys, so checked on my car, the gearbox pump is throwing out dsg oil. Waiting for a call from the warranty company to check if they would pay for the work that needs to be done.

Phat01 give Fr&r a call, they RMI approved.

Hi Guys
Did anyone fit 205/40/17 tyres on the oem 17 detroit rims.
its a smaller tyres than the 215/45/17 is it safe to drive with.
reason is that i do not know so much a but stretch tyres.
and a bit skeptical. but tyres prices on 215/45/17 is madness compared to 3years ago
when i changed 2 tyres

I havent fitted them on detroits but i have 205's on my arietta's up front and 215's on the rear and have never had any issues. Handles exactly the same as 215's.

But are'nt they 132Fkw motors?
So i guess with Dp only, it should mak about 140wkw. guess that will do for now.
Will do Cooler, and Intake next year. Just bought a Chev Ute for everyday use, so cash is lil low now.
