Today I spent a very dirty hour trying to remove the outer CV joint on my 1.4i. It would not budge from the end of the half shaft. Is there a clip or something holding it in place? All the youtube howtos say that you just give it a tap w a hammer. I tapped my moer off and it would not move ? what am I missing here?

Loosen the shaft off box. Clamp shaft in benchvice. Tap cv from the front wer the but goes on. Then hold the shaft of cv in straight position and with lots of lappies with left hand. Then take 4 pound hammer en moer hom. They dont always pop off with a tap. Aggressive tapping is required sometimes. Its gt an internal spring clip.
