Howsit. I need help regarding the temp sender on the side of the mk2 16v kr head.
Any idea if it take the sender unit with the black or white band? My temp gauge in car seems to be over reading

Re: Mk2 16v kr temp sensors
Same black collar temp sensor goes to dash temp gauge, white collar temp sensor is for oil temp

Re: Mk2 16v kr temp sensors
If you are unsure which controls the dash then unplugbone and holdmit against the block. The temp should climb to full hot on the dash when you do that and that is the one then

Re: Mk2 16v kr temp sensors
Maybe it is not the sensor or the gauge that is over reading, it could be that the car has a problem.

Re: Mk2 16v kr temp sensors
I have had the same problem on my 16v. I have a kr and aal engine. Kr had the original water temp sensor which read correctly but I had to replace the sensors on the aal head. When I refitted the aal engine the heat gauge on the cluster was 3/4, thought the engine overheated, but fans were coming on as per norm.
The replacement sensors I bought from goldwagen were over reading on the gauge and the originals read correctly.
