Individual Throttle Bodies
Hi Guys
So I'm doing a little inquiry here today for a future mod. I'm a fan of the feel of the N/A setup so this goes to that.
I'm currently running the following:
HM Block with 83.5mm carravelle pistons
Stock rods
Stock crank
Port + Polished + Gas flowed + swirled vales on std carb and g-cam
50mm wildcat branch + 50mm straight pipe with single freeflow backbox
My questions are:
1. Will it be possible to use my current setup and replace the carb with ITB's
2. If yes than what ITB's should I shop for?
3. Apart from management, dizzy, coil and a fuel pump what other parts are required for this setup to work.
I know the U-Flow setup isn't the best but I may just cut a groove in the rain tray for the trumpets to stick out.

1. Sure
2) something smallish -like 36/38. Maybe even investigate bike setups

Will pick up something from a stock carb if sized right. But can't speculate how much as that depends in a huge amount of things that I just don't know right now. Ie. You Don't even have a set of throttles in hand.

I was searching for Suzuki GSXR1000 throttles or something in that range. Just thought I'd research it as an alternaitive to just the regular FI conversion.
If its worth a try I'll start sourcing parts over the next couple of months and see what comes of it and you never know. May just be interesting enough to share...

HM block is a 1.6l
The Caravelle pistons will not work as the gudgeon pin hieght is too low for the 77mm crank. To get any piston protrusion you would have to cut the top of the block. Not a good idea as it will weaken the supports for the cylinders situated in the water jackets.
You will have to use Audi 2.2l/ Microbus 2.3l pistons with an 86.4mm (1.8.l) crank to get it all to work without cutting the block.
One tip. Block off the water outlet in the carb head that's in between no.3 and 4 inlet ports.
If you look at bike carbs off the older motors it should work just fine without too many EFI related extra mods.
