cable fault.

Post by Raymonds »

hi guys
i have a problem with my 1.4i city golf 2007 .yesterday i parked my car at worked in the morning, then when i want to go home.at the afternoon,my battery was dead ..even the dash board was blank.it does like this several times but on different times, sometimes when driving my radio will just re-start itself..i then thought is a power problem but i dint know where the fault my be. when these happen it affect my alternator regulator which i change 4 times in a period of 12 month, what is rely affecting my regulator?
please this is rely killing me on my pocket because i keep on buying the regulators but it does not solve the problem.

please can any one assist me on what to check

You can start by checking and cleaning the following:

All earth connections and cables
Battery terminals
Positive connections and cables
Two big main fuses behind the battery.
Current rides:

VW Golf - 83 GT 2.1 16V 2-door with throttles
VW Golf - 78 LS 2.0 8V 4-door (2.1 ABF with throttles in progress)
VW Golf - '08 Citi Storm - 1.4 for now
Hyundai - 1.4 Getz (daily)
