MK2 Cluster problem

Post by gman83 »

Hi Guys
My cluster has stopped working or I may be missing something after remove and re-install.
As stated it's a mk2 16v cluster in a mk1 with a white and black plug on either side of the cluster, speedo attachment and mfa tube, so after removing it to replace the globes, it stopped working when installed again, nothing different was done, put everything back where it was, only the cluster time works, no rev counter oil/bat lights or indicator lights.
Any ideas welcome, I tried a second cluster also mk2 with the same results

Thanks

Re: MK2 Cluster problem & Now the Battery runs out while idl

Post by gman83 »

Ok, now the battery runs down while the car is idling within 3minutes from 12v?
removed my radio, and cluster while trying to sort out the cluster issue. The problem I now have is that the battery runs flat while the car is Idling, all connections are ok and tight. disconnected the radio and amps. Nothing was wrong with the alternator before, so don't know if it could be the alternator. Everything was working until I decided to work on the cluster and radio. Any Ideas?
Going to battery center now to see if they can advise and test the battery.

Battery was dead, replaced with 646 and cluster had some soldering done to resolve.
