X Polo Tdi 6R - DPF Revoval

Post by P1LAYA-ZN »

Good day gents,

As I am soon to be taking over my gf's car, I would appreciate some advice.
The car will be around 150000 kms when I take it over and I was wondering if its advisable given the mileage for a 3 yr old diesel, doing the DPF removal ?
I've read up that this will help with saving the turbo, increasing fuel economy and power?
Is it worth doing, and what gains can be expected after doing a mild map ? Also, will the car start throwing out clouds of black smoke ?

Wont suggest removing the dpf, as it is not a normal catalyst. The management uses it. If you remove it , the warning lights will come on the dash and go into limp mode :type: the power will dissapear. Check in thle owners manual. It tells you how to burn it clean if neccesary. When it starts goetting clogged the dpf warning light will come on. Any vw can burn it clean for you using diagnostics. When the warning is active. If you do remove it. And therr are issues. To replace it will cost you in the area of 25k.

First thing you should do is remove the DPF(they remove the insides of it) then go to a tuner who will remove the dpf out of the software. The Dpf regeneration is a pain in the @$$

Hi all

I have a clogged catalyst conveter and have found one at a scrap yard. Can I go ahead and replace it. I'm not a mechanic.
