Leather Interior

Post by CTi »

Howzit Guys,

Just a quick 1, whats the best way to clean/protect leather seat? what products will you recommend that will maintain its factory/dull appearance? i hate leather interior that develops a shine :bang: . from chatting to a few guys, it seems Megs Gold Class Leather Care is the most popular but apparantly it does leave a slight shine.

I have been using Megs Gold Class Cleaner/Conditioner. I havent noticed a shine in the leather after application, just a nice soft touch feeling.

VW sell their own leather cream and soft leather cleaner.

I use the leather cream once a month and now and again I use the soft leather cleaner. It's got a soapy substance and you basically use it to wipe off spills or marks on your seats. Leaves a smell like the cream.

My car has basically retained it's 'newish' smell since doing this. :hurray:

I think it's R120 for the cleaner and R100 for the cream. Very small quantity bottle though.

Will try look at the part numbers on the bottles for you.

FWIW I have been using SmartWax Smartleather - it has a nice leather smell, application is easy, the pricing is good and it does not leave a greasy or shiny residue on the leather.

Used it in the most recent detail, here -----> http://www.vwclub.co.za/phpbb3/viewtopi ... 0&t=157231

Thanks Porra and Lawrence,
Wish i had seen this sooner... but i actually got the Megs Gold Class Leather Care (R90). Used a foam app pad to apply and wiped gently with a MF cloth. certain areas retained the matt finish while a few spots had a slight shine but the leather is now much softer to the touch.

BTW Lawrence, where can i purchase products like Smartwax, Collinite, Menz ect in Durban?
Thanks
