Re: Anyone have feedback on this?
Okay have read through most of the posts on the detailing section.
Interesting how deep the art actally goes.
So was at Midas yesterday and picked up the Shield Clay bar kit from the marked down table.
I will be subjecting my daily driver Hyundai to all these experiments before attempting any VW
Anyone have feedback on the Shield clay kit? It doesn't say if its the ultra fine so am a little apprehensive i.e marring etc

Re: Anyone have feedback on this?
I have only used the Shield Heavy Duty clay, which will invariably leave some marring behind, and not knowing what grade yours is, it is hard to tell if it will mar or not?

I have a bottle of Megs cleaner wax, as well as some Gold class liquid polish.
I have tried the clay bar on the inside of the bootlid and it leaves a slight marring behind, which is polished out quite easily. Not sure if I'm on the right track.

I assume you used the cleaner wax to polish out the marring?

Re: Anyone have feedback on this?
Correct. I used the cleaner wax to polish the clayed area. Did the cigarette packet test after that and it's super smooth now. Funny that even though it's not an exposed area, it still has contamination. So will tackle the rest of the car next weekend.lawrence wrote:Sounds about rightiLy wrote:Hyundai Getz, Metallic blue.lawrence wrote:What car

Used a lot, and your observation is correct. The clear coat seems very soft, even minor stones leave mad chips on the leading edge of the bonnet.Kyle wrote:Use enough lube, hyundai paint is super soft
R100, box and spray bottle's top was damaged, no train smash though.rodga wrote:how much was it?iLy wrote:Okay have read through most of the posts on the detailing section.

Re: Anyone have feedback on this?
Did not get a chance as yet. Was windy last weekend and don't have an enclosed place to work.
Will report back as soon as I get a chance.
