Help! Polo Vivo aerial

Post by Mitch »

I am getting my wife's Vivo ready to sell.

I am puzzled with the aerial.

The car is a base model, so sound was not included from the factory. We bought it as a dealer demo years ago, and the dealer had had an aftermarket sound system fitted, including the aerial.

Now the bee sting they fitted wasn't the normal fixed one, but one that could be pivoted up and down. The result is that over time, the pivot lost its tightness and the aerial would just lie down, and got damaged by the bootlid opening on it. Now i need to sell and replace the aerial, but this damn thing is different to everything i can find.

The bee sting itself has a much longer screw connection and doesnt work with anything from like Midas.

The cable does not run from the aerial to the deck. There is a cable running to the back of the deck from the roof lining, and a connector for the aerial. However, the connection in the roof lining is not the same as that behind the deck (which all the aerials i have found plug into).

I would like to replace the entire aerial but need an adaptor or some similar aerial. But I can't find anything. I've tried:
- Midas
- A1 Radio
- Max Motorsport (spit!)
- Racers Edge
- CN Electronics

I'll post a pic of the connection i need the aerial to plug into as it may help responses.

Any help will be appreciated. I need to try sort this out within a month. I am trying to avoid having to route a new aerial from the roof to the deck.
