Carplay on 2011 CC

Post by Duan »

I have a 2011 CC with Dynaudio package.

I seem to be having some issues with my iPhone not wanting to connect to my bluetooth any more.

I have tried everything i could think of... removing the BT unit under the seat and replugging it. Resetting radio to factory. It simply wont pair again.

So I am thinking: Either something broke or it is getting too old to work with the latest phones.

Now... maybe its time to upgrade to a new head unit?

This does not look too bad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHLz_iFwySw
And while I have seen cheaper, this looks very reasonable: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/produc ... 99739.html

If I recall correctly I currently have the RCD 510

Anyone with advice?

Thanks,
Duan

Are you connecting via the normal Bluetooth connection? Where does Carplay come in to it?

Yes, I have misunderstood, Carplay isn't available via Bluetooth and it is **** to use anyway.

I am getting quite desperate now and as far as I can tell the BT unit under the drivers seat is faulty.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement?

I think the module I am looking for is: 3C8-035-730-E UHV-Premium Novero HT-5

Any ideas where I can find one at a reasonable price?

Duan, did you end up finding anything?

I am looking for a plug and play BT module from my 2011 Tiguan.

iOS 11 wasn't out in June so it is definitely not the OP's issue.

true however he didn't say whether his phone is jailbroken or what version of software he ha or if it is a beta copy obtained before final release? possible...

Just giving him an indication of my experience thus far and what caused it.

I did exactly that.

Installed it today and what a nice update.

There are still some niggles though, but at least it is working reasonably well.

Issues are:
1. Too loud and distorting (I think this has to do with the coding for my DaynAudio system)
2. Climatic not displaying on the HU
3. Small things are a little "buggy" but nothing major

Unit details are:
Device part number: 6RD035187B
Hardware: 541
Software: 5314
Bluetooth: C210
Apple CarPlay: 210.81
Android Audio: 1.3.0

Anyone around the Midrand / Centurion / Sandton area able to help me with coding the radio?

Here is what I have found:
The proper coding for the unit is
16 00 04 40 00 05

40 at block 4 enables the reverse camera.

If you have Fender change block 2 to 01. If you have Dynaudio change block 2 to 05. On either you will also have to change block 3 to 00.

I used a OBDeleven and had to go to Radio-56, switch to development mode in service to change block 2.

In all aspects of coding our NA VW's consider these to be RCD-510's and you can use the same code labels in VCDS.

Would appreciate some assistance.

Yes Dynaudio has an Amp so the setting for 'sound system installed' needs to be set.

I can help with vcds if you can get to Rosebank during o/h?

Sound wise (I also have Dynaudio) I have set the bass/mid/treble to 0... it sounds amazing now. I was unable to code the radio to VW Sound System/Dynaudio....

Climatronic not showing.... this is true although all the other features make up for the lack of this "gimmic"

It won't work... I have a OEM Ross tech cable and if you try coding anything on it it will say "coding out of range"

This is a known issue and Ross Tech has been unable to find a work around.

Thanks for the feedback... stupid question: could it be that using OBDeleven (https://obdeleven.com) might make the difference?
